Publications & Resources

The mission of the CGA is to ensure public safety, environmental protection, and the integrity of vital underground services by promoting effective damage prevention practices.  In order to effectively promote the damage prevention practices and messages identified during the Common Ground Study, the CGA has developed and published the following materials to achieve specific goals.

Educational Programs & 811 Campaign Materials

  • CGA Safety Videos (2011):CGA now has two new safety videos that explain the five-step damage prevention process.
    • Safety Video - Spanish Version: Focusing on the total damage prevention process, a new Spanish educational resource is now available. The recently released English version "5 Steps to Safer Digging" has been translated to Spanish.
  • 811 Video & PSA (2010): Includes information on 811 Pirate Video for children and new 811 Public Service Announcement.
  • 811 Campaign: The link will take you directly to the Campaign Materials section of the Call 811 web site. Download the 2011 communications plan for 811, promotional material, and tool kits that are free to use by CGA stakeholders.
  • Targeted Educational Programs: Access educational materials including Agriculture focused campaign materials and the Locate Accurately message.

Best Practices Materials: Educate stakeholders and promote CGA Best Practices.

DIRT - Statistics/Data: Review Damage Information Reporting Tool (DIRT) Annual Reports.

Newsletter - Monthly Update: Review the latest updates in the CGA monthly newsletter.

OCSI Resource Guide: Online map that includes one call center information by state.
