In May 2007, the CGA launched a national "Call Before You
Dig" campaign to increase public awareness about the importance of
using 811. Since the creation of 811, the CGA and our 1,400
members and sponsors have worked to continuously raise awareness of 811
throughout the United States. In 2009, the 811 campaign continues
to advance through stakeholder support and
collaborative efforts with national companies including Shell
Pipeline, Home Depot and John Deere.
Call811.com Web
Site
The CGA launched the web site www.call811.com to establish a strong
web presence for the campaign and to provide users with additional
information on the call-before-you-dig process. The Call811 web
site is intended to provide potential diggers with an introduction to
the process, answers to basic questions and potential
resources for additional information.
The focus of the CGA's campaign effort has been to create the tools
and resources that will assist our members and stakeholders with
spreading the 811 message. The 811 campaign materials and tool
kits are free to download and use by CGA stakeholders. Many campaign
materials can be customized with your logo. All artwork, materials
and planning documents can be accessed on the web (811
Campaign Materials). This page is intended to be an internal
stakeholder resource and is not readily visible from the www.call811.com home page but can
always be accessed by linking from the Common Ground Alliance web site
or by visiting www.call811.com/campaign-materials directly.
