The mission of the
CGA is to ensure public safety, environmental
protection, and the integrity of vital underground services by promoting
effective damage prevention practices. In
order to effectively promote the damage prevention practices and
messages identified during the Common Ground Study, the CGA has
developed and published the following types of materials to achieve
specific goals.
- Best Practices
Materials: Educate stakeholders and
promote use of the CGA Best Practices.
- Statistics/Data:
Summarize statistical data gathering conducted by the CGA through the
Damage Information Reporting Tool (DIRT).
- Educational
Programs: Communicate public/ stakeholder
awareness and educational programs that focus on best practices and the
theme of damage prevention. This section includes Dig
Safely, Locate Accurately, Agriculture and 811 campaign
informatoin.
