Best Practices Archive

The Common Ground: Study of One-Call Systems & Damage Prevention Best Practices was published in September 1999.  Following the establishment of the Common Ground Alliance, the CGA's Best Practices Committee developed a Best Practices Guide based on the work of the "Common Ground Task Force."  The guide, initially titled Best Practices Version 1.0, included a restatement of the best practices listed in the Common Ground Study, practice statements with supporting description, and all new practices published at least three months prior to the publication date.   Since that time, the Common Ground Alliance has continued to publish subsequent versions of the Best Practices guide annually. 

Each of version of the Best Practices is posted below beginning with the "Common Ground Study" through the most recent version of the document.
